There is no biological reason -- only emotion -- to protect a piebald or albino. If anything, they should be removed from the population. States that have laws protecting these deer are clear examples of societal passion/emotion overruling biology.
It's incredible how many hunters will lose their minds about not shooting "little bucks" or will shoot something "to get the genetics out" and have little understanding about genetics but will protect a deer only because it looks cool.
This pretty much sums it up.

Clem beat me to it. There is zero reason to protect this deer. It's a genetic deformity. It could have been passed down as a rare recessive gene from the parents or it could be a genetic mutation. Either way, there's a chance that it could get passed on to more offspring. It is also possible that a doe like this could have completely normal fawns. There is also the chance that she has nothing but discolored fawns that never survive because they lack the natural camouflage that they were intended to have.
Fred is right too. You can't impact the herd genetics by killing this one deer. But if it was caused by a mutation, you could keep it from spreading in this scenario. There is evidence of white deer being protected leading to a greater abundance of them.

Nope.
If you saw her as a fawn, you'd know her exact age, it would be cool to let her live and watch her for her life span. She'd be easy to identify , might glean some knowledge from watching her. We've got a doe with white on her lower side behind the front leg and in front of the back leg. I have pictures of her beginning in 2010 and she looks grown in that pic. I have pics of her most years on a mineral lick. End of August 2015 she showed up at a mineral lick with twin fawns. First pic ever with fawns. I laid eyes on her for the first time ever back in December with those fawns on a green field after dark. We have one green field that our 4 wheeler road goes straight through. I may have seen her when I jumped her or a glance but never identified her in the last 5 years she has been there. To my knowledge no hunter has ever reported seeing her. That has shown me that you don't always see all the deer on a piece of property.

Let her walk, there are other deer in the woods to kill. With that being said if I only had one or two days a year to hunt like some people and she stepped out she would be drt.

So you guys who won't shoot a piebald, if this was a mature buck of 4.5 years old or older with the same or worse coloration-coat mutation but also with a gnarly rack you looked at and went "Whew, that's bad." ... you'd let it walk?

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

If it was a 5 1/2 yr old or older buck I'd probably shoot it or get my wife or grandson to shoot it

Nope, I'd shoot it. Hunting is about memories to me. I'd rather watch that doe grow up and see how she "lived life". I like shooting mature bucks, no matter the head gear. If he got to 4.5, he's now punched his ticket to the show. There are plenty of does where I hunt that I wouldn't have to shoot a distinct one like this "just for meat." With that said, I have NO PROBLEM with anyone else choosing to shoot it if that's what makes them happy.
Ya'll are just overthinking it now

So some people will kill little baby bucks but wont shoot this doe just because she is piebald?

Clem I'm shocked! I've killed a ton or more of 4.5 and older that weren't piebald with "gnarly racks" I'll dang sure shoot one that is.
