I'd pass on the stoeger. Old guy I know already had one replaced that couldn't be fixed then the new one he got exploded on the second shell

We will burn that bridge when we get there

Do you need the 3.5" capability, if not go with the Franchi Affinity.

Thanks for the replies. Got the franchi intensity. Cabelas had it on sale for $699. Almost same as stoeger. Haven't shot it yet but its a great looking shotgun.I looked at the affinity but wanted the 3.5" for turkey hunting.

The day you need a 3.5" to kill a turkey is the day you need a 338lapua to kill a deer

Great gun. I bought the compact model for my daughter a couple years ago.

A lot of people don't know it but the Stoeger and the Franchi is the same gun. Stoeger is assembled in Turkey with a beretta made barrel and internals with a receiver made by a third party in either Italy or the U.S.that I can't remeber the name of. Franchi is the same receiver, barrel and internals but they're put together in Italy. My Franchi's have been great guns but I've also had great look with the Stoeger I had. Any gun manufacturer can produce a bad one. The first SBE2 I had was a pos bit the 2nd wasn't.
