Im 23 and bought a 2015 Chevy crew 1500 z-71. I looked for a long time at used ones and could buy new cheaper. I decided I was going to get a truck that I could drive A LONG time and have it paid off before I build a house. I'll start a house next fall or the following spring and won't have a house and truck payment right off the bat. Maybe I'll never have a house and truck payment at the same time, that's my plan at least. You are way smarter than you look.  When you build that house finance for 15 and make an extra payment every year and your house will be paid off before your truck is worn out. I'm looking at getting rid of my 04 z71 now but I haven't had a truck payment since 06 so it's a hard pill to swallow.
