Then he should be fined and his hunting rights revoked. He has already broken by not filling out his info.
Maybe so..How about more boots on the ground in the form of game wardens to enforce existing laws instead of more useless legislation that they will not enforce.Cant enforce!!

You care about a stinkin' wood goat that much that you spy on your neighbors via the state's mandated reporting website to see if they're reporting deer to the DNR?

in his post he plainly says it can be used to police others ! But then he says he isnt worried about what they kill as long as its legal ! SMH

We often hear the phrase "locks will only keep an honest man honest". Do you put locks on your gates? Using your logic, we shouldn't lock our gates because it doesn't do any good. I'm not worried about policing others either, but I'd like rules in place that make it easier if the need arises. The current system makes it easy to be an outlaw. Why not make it a little tougher to get away with those actions?
you have a valid point . But where has our governments bright ideas got us so far ? We saw more deer when it was bucks only kill all you want did we not ?

I tell you what buddy you float your boat and I float mine. Y'all internet bad asses aren't going to jump on me for sharing my personal opinion. That's what it is and nothing more. If you don't agree I can give two shits what you anyone else think. You guys are a lot of what is wrong with the damn place these days! Always got to jump on someone because you don't agree with their personal opinion. SMH
im not trying to be a BA . I have an opinion that you think is wrong and you have an opinion that I think is wrong . Nothing to get livid about . In simple form i dont think more government rules will help us at all.

No sir I never said I disagreed with your opinion or point anything else out about your post. Yes we don't agree and I'm totally fine with that. All I'm saying is I participate in several different mandated tagging systems in many states each year. I don't personally have an issue with any of them. They aren't complicated and most are user friendly. I personally would agree to support a mandated tagging system for this state as a tool for our biologist and to possibly help reduce the over harvest. It's nothing more or nothing less to me in my opinion. Y'all have fun and I'll crawl back in my own little world now. I've shared my opinion and have nothing else to add. What I do seems to work well and I'm happy with the results, so either way I'm good.

Just park on the side of the road and start shooting deer. When the game warden shows up just ask him to take the survey.

I don't see this reporting of harvest issue to be about primarily about poachers. Its about being able to collect data so arguments like we carry on here can be backed up by scientific data. Its what everyone seems to be griping about the "lack of" in regards to why are they making unfounded(not backed by numbers) proposals. There will be growing pains with change but the other end of this issue is a more solid foundation for hunters in this state to stand on when they have a gripe about regulation.

I can pick my phone up and have a warden on the other end in nothing flat in both counties I currently hunt in. They bend over backward to help those that show them respect for the job they do.

Squeaky, you're passionate about hunting and are a good hunter and that's all cool. I'm glad we have folks on both sides of the fence asking questions, poking, looking at possible holes in the bucket and other stuff to have discussions.

If we all thought the same thing we'd be a bunch of mopes.

What percentage of hunters do you think kill over the limit of bucks and more than 1 doe a day and how would a tagging system help with that.

don't know the %, but tagging "might" give the GW a chance to bust a violator, deer or turkey. I always wanted a turkey tagging system.

Troy, do I remember correctly that you stated that you have NEVER heard of someone getting a ticket for killing over their limit on turkeys? I am sure some folks would still get away with it but it might stop some folks from killing 20 a season.

If we gonna start checking deer, why not do the same for Fish and squirrels and rabbits..Maybe we can sell tags for an extra Bass or Crappie..Hell lets get the state involved in everything we do..You know they know best.Lets not leave anyone out of this madness.
