I'm going hunting in the morning... But don't know what time I should get out there considering how cold it will be at sunrise!! Wait until 8 or so to go and hunt midday?? There's a bunch of scrapes on this one spot i found. Go there?? Or mosey off in the woods somewhere ?? This time of the year , what are you doing? Remember it's public land and I'm with bow in hand. Any help would be appreciated

I think most hunters on here(and everywhere) will tell you, be ready to walk in the woods at the break of day. If you have an idea of where you want to hunt, be at that spot and be waiting for the sky to lighten. But at least be ready to walk in at break of day.

Last Saturday I waited till it started breaking before I walked in. As I sat down I got a text from my nephew. He was up a tree at daybreak and had already killed a nice 8 pointer before I was even set up. Hunt early and often.

Hunt anywhere. Anything can happen, as long as you're in the woods. Generally, bucks may be working those scrapes at night. You might try to find their bedding area and try to intercept them very early and/or very late in the day. During the rut, many hunters hunt for does, then let them walk hoping a buck will be following her. But if you're not sure where to start, start anywhere. Like I said, anything can happen. Good luck.

Oh yea. Always, ALWAYS be mindful of the wind. And if it's cold, count your blessings. The early part of the season was brutally warm. Deer seem to move better on cold days, along with other factors.
