I hope to in the morning. Flintlock has a learning curve that is for sure.

I drove around Saturday to see where everyone was at and then went somewhere else.I still had someone come in on me..I usually just give it to them on Saturdays and hunt during the week. The end of Lonesome Pines Rd looked like the Walmart parking lot.You can scope those Flintlocks and help yourself a lot.Buddy of mine is driving tacks at 100 yds off a lead sled.

Serious question: I thought Wheeler NWR's flintlock regulations required flintlocks with open sights. I just looked and cannot find any specific prohibition for an optical aid on the gun.

I can't imagine adding a scope to a flintlock but some folks do?

We wouldn't do it without checking anyway..Those federal guys can be very helpful and are very nice..At least the ones I have met.My buddy lives on Hickory Hills and his and his dads lots back right up to refuge..He talks to those guys quite a bit.

Well, cool. Didn't know they'd removed the scope restriction.

Boat rides ain't helped me yet. Joker's come from everywhere.

Don't see anyone all year in these spots. Then flintlock opens and they pop up everywhere.
Never mind that fella waving his orange at me, I think I will just walk around.

Funny thing,I have this one field I hunt, that is super easy to get to and I see deer almost everytime I go and I almost never see anyone there..It is one of those places that may confuse folks.Thinking you may be crossing some private land or something.Been this way for yrs..Hope it stays that way.
