Setting here waiting here a fawn or doe bleating in the distance non stop... What does this usually mean??? Either momma got shot and baby is looking for her or there's an overly ambitious hunter nearby trying to lure one in.

I think the best hunting is going to start this afternoon and over the next couple days. Take them vacation days if you got 'em. Should be some deer on the move.

The times Ive predicted it have been when these major cold fronts roll in and when we have temps down around freezing or below. The predictions have been pretty accurate too. Weve had two good waves of deer movement and killing so far associated with cold air moving in. This one is going to line up great with rut timing but its going to be during the week so many people might not be able to take advantage of it. Make no mistake about it though.the next few days are going to be some good hunting.

Was going for the mid-day to dark sit but my son was adamant that he was going with me today lol (he's 3) so we are headed to my grandma's land to do some scouting for this coming week and chase a few bushy tails while we're at it
