Any idea of neck size, ie. diameter?
I don't know. His neck was very swollen. Hey Matt, is there a doubt in your mind, that you wouldnt have found it without Lucy? Awesome turn out again man.. This deer would never have been recovered without the dog. Absolutely no doubt. He went to the highway twice before crossing it in a different place than he originally tried. I don't know how he went like he did. His left hip bone was shattered, and his body cavity was full of blood.

The deer died approximately 3/4 a mile from where he was shot but just made a big semi-circle to get there. The only bed that was found was the one where Lucy first bayed him. Thanks!! God Bless, David B.

Matt, Although it's not the buck you initially thought it was that is still a fine buck to be very proud of. I commend you for calling in Mike & Lucy and going the extra mile to find that deer. I would love to meet Mike one day and just shake his hand and tell him how much he is appreciated for doing what he does for Alabama hunters. That is a great PIC that you posted of you, Mike, Lucy and that dandy buck. Although it took some effort to recover that buck you made some memories of a hunt today that you will never forget! Congrats on your kill and congrats to Mike and Lucy for "putting another one on the tailgate".

Hey that is great!! Wow, 3 miles! Did he bleed the whole way or none at all ?? How'd you get him out? Lot of deer get lost like that I'm sure. I found a dead 6 point this PM.
