I was thinking about this the other day, then Beadlecombs post in the classifieds reminded me.
Do any of yall hunt with an obsolete or uncommon round? I know some ppl enjoy antique rifles and/or odd calibers.
The closest thing to obsolete I've used is 264 win mag and 6mm. Both are still available in factory rounds, so I wouldn't call them obsolete.
I would be interested in a 6mm-223.

It was my dads in a cool old model 70. I never shot a deer with it, but it seems like it kicked like a mule. It may have been the old red recoil pad or the design of the stock. He also had a 7mm Weatherby about that time and i don't remember it having near the recoil of the 264.
Just curious, why you want a 264?

I remember back about 30 years or so ago when Winchester introduced two or three oddballs....one of them was the .307 Winchester. I don't remember what the other ones were, but I just remember them being slightly "off" from a normal caliber.
Anyone else's memory better than mine on that?
