I've never seen a meat hunter truly bothered by a trophy hunter. We may think it's stupid but we don't have a fit when we hear a gunshot across the line either.
You don't know the meat guys I know. Some of them, "trophy hunters" bug the hell out of. I'd like to have a dollar for each time I've heard one say " well if I could hunt there I'd kill big uns too." No they wouldn't . Only way they kill a big/old buck is if they see it before a spike or doe. Many of them it's not for meat, they just like to kill.
