I need to mount some LED lights on my 18' aluminum boat. I have one 7" bar and two, square lights I want to mount to the side and adjustable for night fishing/floundering.

I am somewhat "challenged" in my red neck engineering skills, as anyone who has been around me can attest.

I was thinking of getting a flat piece of metal and screwing it on the sides of the bow, or maybe a curved piece of tubing/metal and mounting the lights there, to give them a little height and to clear the trolling motor.

Any ideas, or pictures of how to do it would be appreciated.

You're gonna hate the white light of the led bar. I'm pretty sure your idea with the flat steel will work though. Can you make some kind of c clamp to hold the mount on to keep from drilling holes in your hull?
