Chad I own a pile of the Millennium stands and up until recently I've never used a strap on the bottom. I like the M-50 factory cam strap and the factory supplied ratchet strap that comes with the M-150. I liked the secure feeling of using these straps so I started using a strap with my M-100 stands. Since my hips are bad I just like the stand being locked in because I'm not as flexible as I once was when swinging my leg over into stand. Either way I feel safe in the stand and they are the best hang on stand on the market. I can sit in these stands all day and hang one quickly and quietly.

I use a bottom strap if I plan on leaving the stand for extended periods. I feel plenty safe without it but it completely eliminates the chance of the bottom swaying to the side.
