He was a pen deer and known age. The owner darted him for what ever reason. I'd guess to cut the rack off to cool his jets. The neighbor had the dropped rack from the following year. We were discussing culls at the deer club and he broke this pair out.

The dart hit the buck in the hip bone, no other reason was known as to why the buck's rack became deformed.

Troy, I know some guys from a high fence operation that know their stuff. I've talked to a few of them about the cost of does that produce and the possibility of ever buying their top does. Especially as he called them those that are 5 deep (whatever that meant). It's not likely. The big bucks are much much cheaper. Another thing is not just this buck or this doe, but that certain combination that produces shooters.
