Nice buck. Congrats. Is there a story there somewhere. Well not much to say. I had set the camera out in the steepest nastiest section of my land since thats where i knew the trespassers were too lazy to go. I had a good 30 shots of him on camera but had not planned on hunt that spot, really just went to hang the stand. However i had been messing around with other stands and feeders and assembling my prefab shooting house all morning and didnt realize that it was already 1500 so i just jumped in that stand. I thought i had him patterned perfectly but wow was i off on the direction he was coming from. He walked down to where i had just walk through to move the stand and stopped, sniffed, sniffed more and like a smart old buck very calmly turned around and eased on back towards cover. Fortunalty i had a good shooting lane that he had to cross. I wanted to give him a whistle to stop him but my mouth was so dry and my heart pounding so hard i couldnt. Thank the good Lord that there was something real tasty in that shooting lane because he stopp just long enough for a good shot. Ive never had one stand straight up on his back legs and fall over backwards slap dead before. Unfortunatly i have taken off my gopro minutes before he walked out due to the angle of the sun and fear that it would reflect off the lense.
