My take on the GW writing a warning to the kids is to make a lasting impression in hopes that they will not repeat such behavior when they become an adult. Sure it would piss me off too, but think of from their standpoint. Plus, the warning didn't cost you any money out of pocket and just took time for him to write it up. But, if you decided to do it again, he has a record of the infraction now and can hit you where it hurts next time if he chose to do so.

Trust me. I have no problem with the ticket. Sure, it was questionable but I own up to the fact that I caused the problem. It just pissed me off bout my son. Hell, he didn't even know it was there. And I do agree the fact that he will remember that. However, the so called law that I was told simply is not true. And yes, I should not have called him names on here I admit, but he was wrong about what he told me. Again, I fully respect the position of the wardens across the state and the job they do but they ain't always right. And I am OWNING up to what I did. I don't care if nobody on here likes me or believes me. Cuss me, ban me, or F me I don't care. At least I'll be paying more money towards the conservation department than most of y'all! I'm just doing my part.

I wonder what difference it makes, does it matter if I shoot 3 bucks over corn or acorns or food plot. Hell the deer don't know any different. Ultimately, he's dead, and I've accomplished what I set out to do.

Explain please If you don't mind. I'm just poking fun, you see guys about 10ish years ago here in Winston County a new Game Warden came on the job fresh out of schooling I " guess " . Anyways, he got me and we had a discussion about it and I was breaking the law but he went in to ad that I was hurting the deer and this and that blah blah stuff he knew nothing about. That ticket cost me $416.00 and that sucked. If and when it does pass to feed corn ill be the first to make sure he knows. I'm all for it passing 100%.

Can you please go into more detail about the extra 50 yds he told you about? I didn't understand that part. The GW in our area basically said the same as the one a DWs hunt. Never said anything about an additional 50yds.

The way I read it. Shootnmiss was legal or he thought he was. He couldn't see the bait, it was over 100 yards away. Sorta cut n dry, the way I understand it.

The questionable part is I honestly thought I put further in the bushes than I did. It was 10:00-10:30 at night when I put it out and couldn't see the shooting house. It was only roughly 3-5 feet outta sight. That's why I'm fine with the ticket. But I was told by said warden that you had to go 100 yards one direction plus a minimum of 50 yards to the side out of sight. That's what I couldn't understand cause that ain't no where I've read.

Sounds like you need to fight that one.
