I have one similar Paw Paw, I killed a tall racked buck in '92 that is 154 gross typ and right at 160 with stickers. He only field dressed 130 lbs. that's about what a 2 yo weighs up here. He was trailing a doe and she was big as he was. He looked like a freak, closer I got when I was walking to him, bigger he got. After he was FD he really did look freaky big.

The world needs more people holding deer in pictures, and less people holding cameras in front of mirrors.

this is a classic example of the probs with judging score from a single pic, and from a pic at all. There is nothing to compare size to. The rack "looks" but, BUT it may just be smaller than we think.

here is a pic of the deer with the girl that killed it....

it might of weighed 140 pounds, score was, according to the killer, 124" gross

You trust the killer's score was correct? As small as I can make it I can't get 124". Would love to see your guess at a score sheet.

it's pretty dang small. I'd take the killers scoring of that deer before I'd bet on my guess. A tape is usually a lil more accurate than I am......

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I don't know how to score, but the first two things I noticed about the picture is (1) the body didn't look big, and (2) the spread probably wasn't very wide. I assume a mature buck is 16" from ear tip to ear tip, and I was thinking if you held the ears out on that deer, the spread would be 15" to 16". The biggest illusion to me was the mass...looked heavy in top picture, but skinny horned when the girl is holding it. In the end, I didn't think it was very big, but I would've overguessed too. My knee-jerk was 130's.

P.S. I would have shot the woods up trying to kill it though, and rode it home with the tailgate down! grin
