We had this same discussion several years ago and "Outback" said just pick the deer up and set him in the racks or in the basket and called us a bunch of soft out of shape pansies in nice terms. I agree. I've killed a bunch of em, but never had one I couldn't load. CD. Yep, I pull the wheeler parallel to a log, stump or rock about 1/2 the height of the rack. Grab the antlers and step on the log then up on the rack and just pull him up and over. Of course it's always more fun when ya fall . Now I usually drive my ol flatbed Toyota to them and I have a sweet boat winch loading system rigged up on it.

Easiest way I have found to load one if you just can`t get it on the 4 wheeler is to put the deer`s head on the foot peg and tie its head to a tree and give the 4 wheeler some gas while guiding the deer on the rack. I'm confused. If you put his head on a foot peg and tie it to a tree, wouldn't the deer stay at the tree when you drive off? When you start pulling away the rope tied to the tree pulls the deer up on to the rack of the 4 wheeler

Two ropes, tie both to deer head, run Ropes over tree limb over head, pull deer into air with one rope using 4wheeler. Use 2nd rope to tie off deer in air, back 4 wheeler under deer and use rope to lower on to rack. Then ask when you get your free can am. I've tried this but when I pull the deer up in the air, it's too far from the 4 wheeler to load it on the rack. I've also had the wheels spin on the leaves. thus the second rope, tie the deer off with it onto a near by tree, then reposition 4 wheeler under deer and lower onto rack.

Guys you can buy a very inexpensive hoist from bass pro or any outdoor store and all you have to do is attach it to nearest tree as high as you can reach. Then hoist deer from either end up head high or so then swing other end onto atv rack or tailgate. You can load a 180 lb or so deer by yourself with little effort.Iv'e been using one for years and it works great!

I use my cargo carrier. My usual set up, I put my 4 wheeler in the truck bed and a cargo carrier/rack in my receiver hitch on the truck. I also have a receiver hitch on my 4 wheeler. Hopefully, I shoot a deer, ahh.. and I drop it ahh.. and I don't have to go track it. If its in a spot where I can get to it with my truck I can back up to it throw it on the rack and go, that's plan A. Plan B I can't get to it with the truck then I'll take the 4 wheeler off the truck put the rack on the 4 wheeler and there you go. That's the only time I use 4 wheeler during the season
Ditto for me.

I have a 2 " receiver on my 4 wheeler that I hook my hitch haul to to carry a deer out. It's about 2 feet above the ground and makes it real easy especially when you have a bad wore out back like mine.

Easiest is to use small utility trailer. I've got a 4x6 with ramp gate. Lower the gate ,drag deer up ramp into trailer, close gate. Done

I killed a huge buck on the old Muslim Place in Greene Co. My brother and I couldn't pick it up to load on my three wheeler, so I stood the three wheeler straight up and lashed the buck to the rear ramp, and stood the front back down. Put brother on the front rack and eased back to the truck.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Thanks trlrdave. That's the simplest way I have seen to do it with the straps I already have. I wish I had saw that video last Feb. before I about killed myself loading my buck by myself.
