Buying a new fish finder for my yak. Anyone have any experience with this model ? Do you have to buy a chip for the GPS ? Or are detailed maps built in ? Thanks in advance !

Mine has a very basic map in it. I opted to buy the card after a few trips. Figured as much. Thanks Ryano ! Is it the Navionics card ?

I have the Elite 5 Chirp also and I have the Navionics HotMaps premium.
I noticed that the gps on mine seems slow. When I move the boat it seems like it takes a couple of seconds for the gps to recognize the movement. Very irritating to maneuver to get on top of a brushpile. Have any of you with the same unit noticed this?

It is my first mapping fishfinder so I did not know what was normal. I will try it without the HotMaps chip and see if it is faster.

I'll be letting you know how it compares to the Humminbirds I had on my last bass boat.
