Meg’s second find. So here goes the story. Yesterday we got a call to help find the deer that was shot the day before and we found it and posted it yesterday. When we were leaving the property they told us that a hunter had arrowed a nicer buck in the morning but that the deer had laid down and they had video on the deer. They were going back to recover him after they had finished loading meg’s find in their truck. Here is where the story gets strange. We left and were happy to see Meg working again. Last Night Tom gets a call and he tells Tom that they went back to pick up the other deer and it was gone. They had 20 minutes of video of this deer with his head on the ground after being shot. When they realized the deer wasn’t were they left him they started looking around finding little blood but they knew it had done a circle for sure. They also heard something in the thicket going back towards that area he had already circled. They trampled a little around and then they decided to call Tom to bring the dog back out. We arrived with meg and pup in tow at 7Am this morning and he showed us where the deer had been laying. Maybe 75 yards from the stand. Meg spent about an hour in this circle the deer had made. We knew it was a gut shot but so difficult with the amount of traffic. Finally Tom walked her away from this circle and 300 yards later we found him. Coyotes found him first. Definitely resembles an Ainsworth deer. Good find and good deer!
