270 for Eli and before the season is over he's probably going to ask for my 308 as well! My 16 yr old has a 308
The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week. Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.
The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!

Mines 7 and he will be either with my AR-15 in 223 or AR-10 in 308. The adjustable stock and low recoil make them really good for kids. He handled the 223 well last week and may let him try the 308 this week. Would prefer he use the 308 but with the right shoot I think the 223 will work. If you go with the 223, I highly recommend Barns 55gr TSX.

.44 mag in a Marlin 1894. Handloaded 260gr. WFNGC in front of a healthy dose of H110. He's going through an "old school" phase. Man I want one of those but they are bringing more than I could justify spending

My son is 10 and he has two deer rifles. One is a TC Contender in 300 Whisper and the other is a Rem Mdl 7 in 6mm.
At this time he hasn't decided which he wants to start out with this year.

My son has a .308 BAR, but he says he wants to carry my .257 WBY a time or two this year.
He will probably hunt with a 20 ga 1187 slug gun quite a bit too.

My girls have always shot them with my BAR 308. The little got a little close to the scope one time but she got over it real quick with the buck she just shot flopping against the ladder on the stand.
