I've shot a 9pt before and ten minutes later a bigger 8pt came on the same trail. I don't really think it matters unless I just caught a dumb deer. I try to only hunt one stand every 2 weeks and keep rotating so I don't over hunt one area, depending on the wind.

Same day depending on circumstances. I've killed several deer out of the same stand multiple days in a row. I've doubled on does and big bucks several times the same hunt or same day. Human intrusion changes deer behavior, not dead deer or blood splatter.

Killed a 9pt one morning, went to the same stand that evening and killed two does. It was a HOT tree.

Lumpy why would you think that he wasn't hunting in AL, deer have travel patterns, time of the kill and the wind direction can all play in your favor in the situation.

I've seen deer walk by gutpiles a day old and didn't flinch. Get in and go hunt.

Yep.

When?

To answer the original question, I have gone back in the afternoon and hunted the same stand I killed a deer in that morning.
