That's all God really wanted and still wants today, for man to just believe Him. Just take Him at His word. He told Abraham( a pagan man at the time) to get up and go and He would do such and such. Abraham said ok and got up and went and it was accounted to him as righteousness.
God's word is absolute truth.
Sure there are many things the Bible never mentions and doesn't have to. It's just part of life here on this side. He did make us for His pleasure so we should just believe Him and accept the abundance of life that He gave us to enjoy. "Those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteouness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ...(Romans 5:17nkj)
He did leave us all we need though..."as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue"...(1 Peter 2:3)
