At 10:30 Central. Speculation is that they have found flowing water, which could lead to all kinds of other possibilities.

If so, that is interesting. But if they don't find deer, turkey, or women, does it really matter?? I ain't going! grin

Evidence of water would mean a food plot could have a chance...and there's a lot of land available there. laugh

What's a 3-day, non-resident trip license to Mars cost anyway?

I hear you N2TRKYS, but the space program is really a huge success story for the common man. The money invested has come back to the taxpayer many times over. Without it, for the most part, the computer industry would not exist for the individual, GPS, internet, microwave technology, carbon structure technology, and much more. It is one government program that has some of the best minds in the world working almost as a private industry. And no, I don't work for NASA, I'm not nearly smart enough...

I see both sides of the issue. NASA has always intrigued me. I think of it sorta like soldier pay: if we have to cut it, OK, but it needs to be last on the list, after welfare, WIC, section 8, Medicaid, and all the other ones I'm forgetting.

And according to the article, it's seasonal. I guess I never considered the idea of Martian seasons. I guess any rock orbiting the Sun would have seasons based on how it spins.

I'll go with a video response since I'm sure there was someone calling "crap" on the person that sat down to come up with a written language. Just be sure not to watch the video on something that has a link to innovation, exploration, discovery, etc.

Watching it now and the guy just said that water on Mars disappeared and they don't know why. They thought it might be related to "climate change". Wonder where this is going and if they will now try to link Mars lack of water and "climate change" on earth?

Actually, I would think this line of thinking would be a tree hugger's worst nightmare. Catastrophic global climate change with no human involvement. Impossible!

So why do they think that water is necessary to sustain life on another planet (alien life)? If it's alien life then isn't everything on the table? I don't understand why they think it has to conform to the same properties of life as earth based life form.

That is exactly what I've always wondered....I guess they look at it as evidence that it could contain similar life to our own planet, but the absence of it, to me, doesn't necessarily guarantee there isn't some sort of life.
