I'll be doing some of the same in a couple weeks, including dragging a push mower halfway across the state. Cereal rye, wheat, clover, and rape. Which of the below do you think the mowing does?
1) agitation helps to work the seed to the soil 2) cutting down dead grasses/weeds helps emerging plants quickly get sunlight 3) buries seed under clippings reducing the chance of birds eating them 4) buries seed under clippings helping to keep them moist
Perhaps all 4? If it works it works, just curious what y'all think.
