The Mexican problem has to be dealt with by mexico. You do that by cutting off aid and trade with them until they do something about it and then you enforce your own laws already on the books by controlling the border. Then you work on the 14th ammendment.

Raise penalties for ANY employer who hires illegal immigrants. Make the fine un-affordable or make the employer go to prison. That would solve a big part of the problem. But it would hurt Trump and a lot of the candidates' supporters bottom line.

It should be the easiest thing to get done if you had a leader who could get the message across to the public who would in turn put the pressure on their representatives to pass it. You think liberals ever look at policies they want and say " no way we get that passed"? There is the reason they get more done in 4 years than conservatives could do in 40.

Honestly, I understand exactly what you are saying, now. I've tried for the last week to only disagree on principle and not make it personal. It doesn't help to personally attack those I don't agree with and it hurts my testimony. Not to mention, I completely understand the anger that people have toward the establishment and why Trump is able to resonate with that anger. I just disagree that he is the one who will do anything about it.

Well it wasn't / isn't my intention to be condescending, and I don't believe I have been. Neither am I "high brow"...I'm as country as a clothesline. Yet what I sense you are doing is (subconsciously) equating presidential etiquette and articulate speech with "Progressivism" or liberalism. I remember when I used to cuss and fight because I didn't have the mental and verbal weapons to win an argument otherwise. It's the same thing with Trump, he cannot articulately and calmly debate the issues with men like Cruz/Paul because they know every detail and he has little/no clue. Thus he answers everything with a brash and confrontational demeanor and always ends with "I'm against political correctness." America has developed this personality that is against intellectualism, it shows in every arena. If 'Murica would vote for Donald Trump, they'd vote for Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. I don't disagree with Trump, I simply think he doesn't know very much, and he doesn't act professional.

First off, lots of people in business act and talk the way trump does. They are just not on tv. Second, I can't see how you can say one of the richest business men in the world doesn't know much. He went to and graduated from some of the best schools in the country. Does he know much about politics? I don't know but he does know how to hire people that get the job done and that is what we need. Not someone who puts their friends and political allies in positions as a favor. Cruz seems like a great guy and could do a lot for the country in certain positions but he doesn't look like he is ready to be a leader right now. I will vote for him if he makes it on the ticket though.

As others in the race after a primary or three start dropping out, their supporters will attach to another candidate(s). By the time of the SEC primary, there will likely only be 6-8 candidates left...hopefully less.

If you are a Trump fan, then you already support him. I don't see those who favor Perry, Santorum, Huckabee, Jindal, Fiorina, Graham, and many of the other no-shot runners switching to Trump. I expect to see a huge shift to Cruz, Rubio, Walker, Carson, Paul and perhaps Christy. The mid-list.

Then it will become 100% about campaign $ resources. We'll get our short list them when 2 of the above drop out of the race because they cannot raise enough money to compete. I don't see many supporters of Cruz, Rubio ,Walker, Carson jumping to Trump. Christy people, maybe.

Look at New Hampshire. Trump +24. But that is with all the players still in the race. Once Iowa, NH and the other few early primaries are held, the field will narrow a lot. I expect Trump's large lead to also narrow greatly.

While I like Carson and Cruz a lot better...I agree with a lot Trump says.

He got his degree at an Ivy League school,( there are only 8 ivy league schools) the Univ. of Penn.. He also went to Wharton School of Business.

And hes in the building trade. You deal with rough folks in building. You cant go around acting wimpy.

You have to be tough dealing with all those contractors and sub contractors.

I think his way of speaking comes from that.

I build, fix, renovate and flip buildings. I deal with tough groups of sub contractors. I definitely dont talk to them like a politician thats for sure.

Let me see if I can explain from a different angle...

Governing is more predicated on philosophy than practice. What I mean is that my bedrock philosophy will determine my practices. I can't tell if Trump is even conservative, and he's dang sure a million miles away from Libertarianism (which is what I prefer). I bet Trump couldn't even quote the preamble, much less make every decision based off his constitutional philosophy. The dumbing down of America has resulted in us being far more interested in debating low priority stuff like social issues and immigration. We don't need some radical immigration overhaul, just enforce the damn laws we already have. THAT's a quick debate, it's over, move on!

Now, if Trump will promise me a RADICAL, complete overhaul of the taxation system, then he's my man. I want a low flat tax, IRS abolished, a couple of universal credits, and....well, that's about it. THAT is what Cruz and Paul are trying to talk about, but nobody's interested. Instead the masses wanna know where the candidates stand on $h!t the government ought not even be involved in!!!!!! If Trump wants to be a bad@zz and run that bombastic mouth, let's hear him say this: "You promise to pay your 10% flat tax, and I promise you'll never hear anything ever from the government, period!"

I think drug dealers, theives, 'tutes and everyone else...including the entitlement crowd need to ALL feel the burden of taxes...so tax what people buy...not what they EARN.

Id like to see that go through with whatever candidate wins.

enforcement, IMO, is not that hard and just simply addressing the illegal immigration would probably create even bigger issues since we have become so reliant on this segment of the workforce. I believe that we have to address 4 issues simultaneously,
1)a consumer tax that everyone pays into when they purchase items which forces illegals and all other non tax paying people to pay taxes
2)address a welfare system that encourages some to draw a check instead of work, this is important because when the next step is put into place you are gonna need someone to pick the tomatoes.
3)force employers to verify the US citizenship of all employees and employee candidates and have a stiff penalty for employers who violate the law.
4)establish and enforce a guest worker program for immigrants who are a valueable part of our economy.


I believe restructuring the welfare system would force many to starve or go to work, which would begin to dry up many of the jobs that the illegals are doing. Also when they are paying taxes when they buy groceries, their bottom line is not as good which would encourage some to leave or force their employer to make changes, that for the employer becomes a hindrance and may make better sense for him to hire legal workers instead of illegal. Finally, all the IRS workers, now out of a job,is just restatused to immigrtion enforcement.

Dry up the jobs, get rid of the handouts and it becomes better for them to stay in mexico and scratch out a living....and no need to spend billions in fences.
