I asked this in the main forum but wanted to run it by the bow hunters.

I'm looking for the lightest, most comfortable lock on stand. I'm gonna be hoofing it way back in the woods this fall and I'm trying to cut all the weight I can. I will be siting there all day or till I shoot a deer.
I see the lone wolf hang on is light but not sure the seat is comfortable enought to sit in for hours.
Millennium m100u looks comfortable, advertised at 11.5 lbs.
Looks like the loc-on company is out of business. They had some super light weight hang on stands but I can't find any. Which is better for a crooked tree?
Input greatly appreciated.

Lone wolf sticks and buy cheap stands and leave them in the tree. That's what I'm doing in Kentucky this year. Just carry the Sticks in and out. $30 will buy you a lockon to leave out

Here is a link to the one I posted in your other thread. Very similar to a lone wolf, much better seat and much better price. http://www.xopoutdoors.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=11&idcategory=6

The pic below is my Summit Viper all set up ready to hunt. I have a few spots that are about a 3 mile round trip. I added the wrap around seat for all day set comfort. I won't lie to you and tell you its light. But I carry everything I need to include food and water for the day. The wheels on the bottom are a new addition for this year. They are made by Sherpa Hunting and I am sure they will be awesome. Link below to their website.

I will also have a few Summit The Crush lock ons in this year too.

The best thing is to just do some extra cardio pre and during season and dress light, start early and walk slow..

i have a couple of summit climbers and they are comfortable. I need a loc on stand because of the lack of choice trees that will work with a climber.
I'm leaning towards the millennium 100u, weight to comfort ratio seems pretty good. 10-12lbs extra on your back is noticeable climbing hills and walking a long distance.
Thanks for everyone's input

How are you planning on getting up the tree when you get there? You can carry sticks and a lockon, or you could use tree spikes and linemans belt. Either way you are hauling as much weight as one of those summits. The only really good way to haul a stand in and out with you and actually cut significant weight is to use a light climber. Like my 12# x stand.

Checkout the Millennium tripod.

There are two seasons: hunting season and getting ready for hunting season.

A home made ground blind is also a good option.
