I hunt naked. Most of the time when they bust me it's because I have teabagged them.

you can wear any color you want. movement matters - don't do it. be still. don't fidget.

Good thing you're hunting deer and not rabbits. That could get rough.

any camo is better than none , i think real tree and mossy oak changed the way their fabric is process . hold it under a black light, what ever you have .

take a wad of cotton right out of the field and hold it under a black light .

And to think the old timers killed plenty of deer wearing red plaid flannel and waxed canvas..... quit worrying so much about a fashion show or how you look at the gas station or in camp, and get downwind and be still. Camo does a lot better at separating hunters from their money than it ever has killing critters. There's a reason camo companies have such a large budget set aside for marketing.

Although I won't hunt without camo head to toe; this guy makes a ton of sense too...

Brown carhartt pants and a camo shirt or jacket is all I ever wear. I wore a black hoodie a few times sitting in my ground blind last year without anything camo on and still killed deer. When I climb I like to face into the tree. I don't care if you are wearing josh's unicorn costume there has never been a deer that can see thru a tree

We will burn that bridge when we get there

I killed this buck last year wearing what you see in the photo. A blue flannel, and blue jeans. 10ft off the ground in a double ladder stand at 50yds. I guess this bucks UV blue X-ray robot eyes were broken thumbup

My favorite camo is a 3d leafy suit. I slip it on over whatever else I wear. I just make sure everything I wear is washed in All Free and Clear with a little baking soda. It works very well for everything I hunt and is cheap and simple.

UV and IR are opposite ends of the spectrum, so game cams aren't a test. But, I can believe deer see deeper into the light spectrum than we do.

It makes sense though because it's those colors that they can not see...reds, orange, and greens (on the IR end).

I caught on to UV years ago when I was sitting on the ground an hour before daylight with a bright full moon above. The Lee camo jeans I was wearing were lit up like a candle, while the camo sweatshirt I was wearing was black as the ace of spades. (correct me if I'm wrong, but the moon only reflects UV light?) Any way, I was busted enough times that I started checking my clothes with a black light. If I buy some camo and it glows under a black light when I get home, it goes back to the store.

The only time it matters though is during low light conditions (dawn, dusk, and dreary overcast conditions)

Hunter orange does not matter, IF the garment does not glow. The problem is most hunter orange is treated to make it glow so it can be seen better. Check out the hat I'm wearing in this photo.. it does not glow. I shot this doe while standing on the ground 15 feet from her. She never saw me.

Hmmm! But that brand new Browning or UA camo looks sooo dang good on me. I use brand name washing detergents with no dyes, no perfumes and no UV brighteners, etc... but I still worry about UV brighteners that's still there from the manufacturer.

I too have had deer look up at me at 25' in a tree and stare and I haven't moved. It has to be UV brighteners getting their attention.

I see it (no pun intended) this way... I like to see turkeys too when I hunt and it's hard to fool them as their eyes are full of cones. I'll continue to buy camo but I'll make sure to pay attention to UV issues and address that.

Anyone have any pics of camo 'glowing' under a black light next to camo that doesn't 'glow' under a black light?

Think and believe what you like. Last year I wore fluorescent green shirts with a black & fluorescent green jacket. I killed deer and a bobcat sitting on a logging road overlooking a clear cut. I normally wear a red sweatshirt (old standby) and jeans. I kill deer in this outfit as well. Don't overthink things - Keep It Simple. What did folks wear 50 years ago?

Not saying I don't wear camo, as I do, just that it is not necessary.
