I used to be an AEA member. I dropped out two years ago. I could no longer justify sending money to an organization that supported every thing I was against politically(other than a pay raise for me! :)). Also, they send money to the NEA. They DEFINITELY support everything politically that I am against.

Union membership fees are basically being laundered and passed on to the Democratic Party ONLY. That's a fact! Let your conscious be your guide.

Do you tell them not to pay you as much since you don't support the union? wink

What? I make more by not providing union dues for voluntary brainwashing.

And probably still take the advantages of all the benefits the union provides and the things that people fought and struggled to get in past years... I would never work at a place that is union, and not be in the union... No way, no how...

Who is brainwashing you? And you just proved my point. You are enjoying all the benefits of working a union job (higher pay, better benefits etc) without paying the union dues.

central ala,
Let me say first, I'm not pro union or anti union. I see good and bad from both sides.

My question: Are promotions done on seniority?
