DEER WILL EAT NATURAL GROCERIES BEFORE NON NATURAL ANYTIME

i find on my property they hammer protien rations and summer food plots from spring through fall, once we get a few cold fronts and they know whats coming they switch to corn and rice bran and such for the higher fat and carb load to have energy stores for the rut and winter, i keep plenty of both available year round and they eat both year round but focus definitely changes seasonally here.

I've heard corn produces heat in chickens, so we don't feed it to them during the summer heat. Wondering if it's the same with deer.

we generally have trouble with the deer eating the corn until Sept. By then all of our natural browse is drying up due to dry weather. They will eat it then until the acorns start to drop.
However they are still hammering our sweet feed/ record rack feeding stations. That is out of a trough feeder
