I think it depends on the gun you shoot too. A bigger gun is going to pack more of a punch and have more impact inertia. If I was shooting a smaller gun/bullet I'd probably concentrate more on the boilermaker shot.


The caliber doesn't make any difference, bullet construction and shot distance matters.

I prefer lung shots, dragging a deer 40-50 yards isn't a daunting task. Head, neck, shoulder shots can be counter productive.
