Would you rather see 5 to 10 deer a hunt, maybe more, and still have a chance at killing some 130 class bucks? Or, would you rather see 10 to 15 deer a year and have a chance at killing a 180 plus?

Trick question.....right?

Heck I'll bite. Seeing how I'm fresh out of 180s , I'll take option B.

I'd rather see more deer.

I think most of the places with bigger deer also have more of them, so I don't think your question would ever be a realistic choice.

Personally, I'll take the seeing 5-10 deer a hunt.

No trick question, just curious as to what people prefer. I want people to answer realisticly in the sense of how much it cost these days just to hunt a good piece of property and everything else. Its slow around here so I thought I would stir the pot.

Yeah, I guess way far south. Anybody that says they'd rather go for the 180" has probably killed a ton of deer in their life, and has probably never actually hunted many times in a row and not seen a deer. It ain't fun grin

I'll take the 180" option.

Alright, to make it more realistic let's say 160 deer

I've had many days in a row that weren't fun by that definition. When I started hunting in the early 70s in Jackson Co. everybody had days like that.

Now that you're at 160, there's plenty of places you can see 5-10 deer a day and shoot a 160". Not often mind you , but it could happen.

The first option for me.....especially since I would have to drive way too far from my house to anywhere close to a 180 inch buck lol

In between for me I'd rather see a few deer a day and have a chance at a 120-135" than hunt all year for a chance at a monster. I've hunted places you were lucky to see 20 deer a year and it makes hunting miserable.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I would like to hunt a place where I could see 10 or more deer per day and have multiple chances at some 120's. I don't care to hunt a place with very low numbers I just like watching deer and would rather bag a smaller buck as long as I can see deer on every hunt.

I've killed a bunch of deer, even then, I get a lot more enjoyment out of having deer to watch every time I sit and the chance at a good alabama buck, than I do not seeing deer but every 4 or 5 hunts and having a monster floating around. Now, if the question was would you take a place that you saw 10 deer a sit and had the chance of shooting a 130, or a place where you saw 1-3 a sit and had the chance of killing a 180, I'd pick the second.

Could not have said it better myself. Agree 100%.

I'd rather see deer. I like to kill a nice buck but I am not all that into antlers.
