My luck would be I'd drop a ton of money and then it would hit the all time low in a few days.

It'd be nice to buy a few hundred ounces or more and it jump up to a price range of around 50 dollars an ounce like it did back around April of 2011.

I have bought locally but can usually beat them on-line. I have used JM Bullion, Gov Mint and Ampex with no problem, whoever,is lowest with shipping.I do the rounds and Eagles about 50/50.I consider this more a part of my SHTF preparation than a typical investment.
Cullbuck, just interested in what investment with a decent return does not go up/down and have some risk. Dang sure is not the stock market or real estate.

I never have understood why gold, silver or diamonds are worth much. They are useless pieces of vanity. I think that a sack of vegetable seeds and a hoe should be worth more. But like I stated, I don't understand economics. I agree 100%
