I've seen copper pipe crack due to a settling foundation so I don't see why you think a soldered connection would be more permanent. Anything has the potential to break or fail. With a sharkbite fitting, you don't have to buy soldering wire, flux, sandpaper, nor a propane bottle. hell , two weeks ago i cut five holes in a wall between apartments to find a pin hole in a copper pipe . cut the pipe slapped on a sharkbite . glad i didn't need fire . lol
