People will answer surveys honestly, UNLESS they have a good reason to lie. Before AL had a buck limit, most folks that killed a bunch of bucks were proud to put that number on the survey. Now, anyone who has killed more than 3 will either lie about it or not return it.

I would argue that AL has about as good of an idea of the LEGAL buck harvest as anyone else. They have no idea about the illegal harvest, and neither does any other state.

So the question would be do buck limits reduce the actual harvest, or just the legal harvest? If you move a bunch of buck kills from legal to illegal, you haven't accomplished much, imho. But they make some folks feel better, so we will probably see a lower one in AL too.
