Football, not everybody can be a nfl caliber player, no matter how much effort they put in.

Nascar, a huge chunk of it, is how much time and effort you put in, along with your connections.


You don't have to be abnormally gifted to be an athlete, and busting your ass doesn't make you a professional.


I'm talking about high profile sports. Not you and your buddies rec league softball team. In the professional sports world, some like basketball, football, etc, eliminate the vast majority of the population because they weren't born with the right physical attributes. Some like racing, pool, bowling, etc, you can be average physically and still suceeed through hard work. I consider an athlete to be a abnormally gifted individual. Most nascar drivers aren't.
