Depends on condition, how many times it went through arsenal and had updated sights, stocks, bolts, etc. The more matching serial numbers, the better.

On a USGI M1 carbine the serial is only marked in one place, on receiver behind rear sight. There are are a lot of things to consider for value, would have to see it but a good spread is $400 to $1500 for Rock Ola. Look on bottom of barrel near front sight and see if it is import marked, this lowers value.

Yep, been awhile since I looked at mine. Lately been more into foreign guns that tend to serial number all their major parts.

aint a import aint been shot since the 40's or so . still has the old sling on it .

are any of you guys able to put a value on it if you held it .

yea, mine has serial number and Winchester under rear sight. Ain't been shot in more than 25 years. First gun my dad gave me for deer hunting when I was 14, then the next year my granddad gave me his old Marlin 30-30 and the carbine has been in a gun case ever since. Guess that was around 30 year, 1985.
