I still have some combine run cowpeas and summer mix (soybean, cowpeas, sunflower, corn, sorghum, and lab lab) for sale, $25.00/bag cowpeas and $20.00/bag mix. The bags average around 45 pounds. Also, I will have a fall combine mix of wheat, oats, rye grain, and winter peas. It is $8.00/bag if paid for prior to June 01 (20 bag Minimum). After June 01, it will be $12.00/bag. Call 256-737-9595.

Do you have a general idea of what kind of germination rate the fall mix usually gets from a combine run mix like this? Trying to figure how many bags I might need. I have a hunting club member close to you so I may be interested if they can haul it down here.

What are the percentages of seed in the mixture?

I planted approximately 100 acres of certified fall mixes last year. The majority of the seed is wheat. I did plant 11 bags of combine wheat with 5 bags of winter peas on approximately 10 acres. It looks great. As far as the germination, I usually plant around 75 pounds of combine fall seed per acre to be on the safe side. I sprayed the field for weeds, so the weed seed should be minimal.
