I did the Dale Jarrett experience at Talladega also. I thought they put allot of time in planning the entire experience. It felt like I was flying down the backstretch at 165mph, then I was passed by an instructor that had to be hitting the upper 180's. I needed a beer when my laps were up. They have a sign on the fence to remind you that state troopers will not be impressed that you just ran Talledega, if you speed on the interstate. Sixty five mph felt like 25. Yep. I did about 160 when I did the Richard Petty driving at Talladega. It does feel like you are hauling ass. I got a ticket in Wilsonville on the way home.

We raced go karts for several years and raced on the short track at Talladega a few times. 35-40 karts doing 85-90 on a 3/8 mile track will pucker your ass and when you're that low to the ground it makes it feel like you're doing 200. Only place I ever raced that scared me a little.

I use to open my Camaro up on I59 coming and going to college. I shut it off several times at whatever speed it shut off at.
That was a younger dumber me. I look back and can't believe I use to go that fast on a public highway. I haven't drove that fast since college. I would love to get on Talladega and open up one of their cars!
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.
