Hope he sticks to schedule for you man! I'm not too pumped for this weekend to be honest. I can't stand to deer hunt a bird, and I'm pretty sure this weather and the previous cold is gonna keep them shut down. Of course, might be completely wrong and pleasantly surprised.

Heard birds both morning and got close but they ain't ready to play yet up in high Jackson.

I spent about 17 hours in the woods this weekend, and heard a whopping zero gobbles... Guess I'm snakebit. I hit 4 different properties, in Montgomery, Lee, Macon, and Jefferson. Sign is there, but no gobbling.

Didn't hear a bird in 2 days....I know they are there but to early. Birds always slow on my place.....

I chased one across the county this morning. I saw him hit the ground. He went the other way and was still headed away the last time I heard him. It was good to hear one gobble the first hunt of the year though.

Haybale, they making any noise up in north Alabama? I've got a buddy with several hundred acres on top of the mountain in Jackson county. All hardwoods and greenfields. He has never hunted this piece before, but I figure there ought to be birds. Trying to decide between Georgia public land or up there for this weekend.

With some coordinates I can let you know for sure. lol. It's just according to what area it is. You can pm me if you want and I may know more. You can ask around I'm safe lol. but most of the birds I've heard has been down low. I don't know why but I've not seen near the amount of birds on top of skyline as I have down on the mountains and in the bottoms.

Man to be honest I'm not 100% sure where it is. I've only been up there once bowhunting, and I didn't drive. He is a pretty good turkey hunter, but has been to busy to do any scouting. All I remember is taking cathedral caverns through Woodville, and it is about 10 minutes from there. I think it is about 900 acres total, about half on top of the bluff, and the other half on the side. All good turkey habitat. Many birds in that area?

congrats on your bird. I finally saw 2 today and heard my first gobble....

I got a good one down this morning. First bird I've heard gobble so far. 1&3/8 spurs and 10 1/4" beard. Haven't weighed him yet.
