Get the Forester Supplier brand, Sure Seal. +1 +2, if you're just using it occasionally knocking around the farm you won't need a new wick for a long time.

Make sure you get one with the loop in the neck. Any new one will have it. Forestry Suppliers silver colored torch works just fine. We usually mix 2/3 diesel and 1/3 gasoline for torch fuel. Whether you are a certified burn manager or not, always get a burn permit from the Forestry Commission when you burn anything over an acre in size. Helps them know where burns are taking place and helps them when folks driving down the road think there is a wildfire and call it in (happens every time).

Actually we want them for any fire over a quarter of an acre.

The red ones make you a professional burner What makes you a professional is when you forget where you sit one down until the fire gets there and you start seeing the roman candle spurting up in the air That is usually a long day. Of course you could burn up a rig and half your hair like ol' gobbler I wondered if that was him I seen pics of. Thought about that yesterday while running the 4 wheeler with the flame thrower on it.

I looked at a potential burn area today, dang 25' high piles of hardwood tops and whole hickory trees all over the place. It would be a pucker of a fire for somebody. Sounds like a fun site prep burn
