Me too! I think it was for a lot of people. They acted like they were supposed to act! I keep hoping every year will be that way, but the last two have slowed way down for me. It may be my second child that has slowed me down, and the turkeys are the same?? laugh

Turkeys haven't been the same to me the last 2 years but I did see sign this past weekend that reminded me of that year. Maybe this warm weather will stay now and we have to hope they can swim after this week leading up to opening day. Looks like the weekend will be wet for me too!

I work 4 on 4 off. Days and nights that swing every week. So its no telling how anything falls.

My Texas trip got canceled but im still going to Nebraska the first week in May. Hopefully I can catch a few messing up here at home also.

Wasn't sure if you guys saw but my youngest son Evan got one Saturday evening. We were slipping into a field about 3 o'clock and got to about 75 yards from the field and saw a bird in the road. We back up and set down. I guess the bird heard our commotion because it wasn't just a minute and he walked our way. I yelped one small yelp and he eased down the road toward us.

Evans getting big now, hes 13 but I still got him in my lap and slide the trigger off when the bird got to about 50 yards. We were on the same side of the road as the bird was walking so we had a bad angle. Bird kept walking and getting closer and when he got to 15 yards he turned and stepped in the middle of the road. I was waiting and I heard Evan say "Time to die" Booooooom and it was over. Hes a little arrogant thing.

I was shaking just a tad and afterwards he was like " I was worried you was going to scare him". Amazes me how calm he can stay. LOL

Nice two year old. About half inch spurs and a 9 inch beard.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I can't wait til mine is old enough to go! I got to get some killin done, because of mine will go and want to be behind the gun, I'll let them every time. I'm already nervous for them and my oldest is only 4. Lol! Congrats to you both!
Brotherhood, I hope I get to see another season slap full of suicidal, loudmouth turkeys. I've hunted them for a while now, and that was a first.

Me too brother! I have been blessed the last couple years to take a few but I sure love the years when you do more right than wrong and turkeys act right!

Been building a pier all day at the warrior. Got sick younguns that I came home to, so I'll be in an out the rest of the pm. I'll just go ahead and put the snood busters in the other thread. Don't matter anyhow. We gotta just kill some turkeys in a few days!

Went and shot my new to me 20 today. I haven't counted it yet, but it looks dang good! Shootin 1 5/8 TSS 8's, with sumtoy .572. I'm all ready now. I'm gonna wear ahold in my vest if I keep fooling with it. Hurry up Saturday!
Also checked a few camera today and have got a few strutters on a few different cameras, so I should be in good shape as far as my lease goes.

I haven't got the first strutter on camera this year. Just a handful of hens and one tom that just walks through every now and then. But I know the birds are there, I heard several the other morning. I'm ready to help get this team on the board!
