That may be true, but you cannot say that A,B, and C breeds are bad because they are strong. Ever seen a 90# chesapeake with a litter of puppies pissed off? I see chihuahuas that put on a good show until I get my hands around their neck. Yeah, I am much more confident in going to get a snarling yorkie out of a cage than a 95# rotty.
I don't think it is anything to do with breed characteristics other than size and temperament, and I realize that supports the argument against then. But there are plenty of dogs that have the similar size and temperament that are not of concern in these discussions and that's because they are likely not owned by the demographic associated with "vicious" dogs You make a ood point. However I fail to understand how that makes the situation better. Even if they are no more inclined to bite than any other breed they are still vastly more powerful and that makes them dangerous. If I get attacked by a Yorkie I can kick it across the room. If a pitt attacks I'm either shooting or dying. I don't know how this is making y'alls case.

bc since you and the rest fail to research this on yawls own. I'll spoon feed yawl. There is a breed specific test that they do on dogs. that shows how aggressive a dog is. ALL aggression. Human agg., dog agg., how it acts when its starteled, how it reacts when a stranger attacks the owner. I love pits owned them all my life. Do I trust your pit. not neccesarely. Or any large dog for that matter. A human can ruin the best dog, or anything else for that matter.

While you are at it, tell me why you feel that if they are less aggressive than other dog breeds, then why in your opinion do they dominate all meaningful statistics from numerous sources to be the most dangerous breed. Everybody is just picking on the poor ol Pit Bulls for no reason?

to answer your last question. Why doess Fox news talk bad against obama, yet cnn tells how great a job he's doing. You gotta consider the source. Maybe this will help with the other part. Im not saying there is not aggressive pits. Because unfortunetly there is. Due in part to the fact that pits are the most popular dogs on the market, and money hungry breeders. And idiots raising them. For hundreds of years the breeding of these dogs was done very carefully, like most breeds. Human aggression was one of the most undesirable chareteristics and bred out. Now people will get brothers and sisters and breed to sale. Another reason why people getting all kind of bloodlines bred in with unknown results. All for the mighty dollar.

My question....hundreds of breeds to choose from, so why choose a pit?
If I can choose any gun on earth, why would I choose the one with the worst safety record?
It's simple common sense to me. It's like choosing a Hi Point as a ccw.
If you’re a common sense person, you probably don’t feel you have a home in this world right now. If you’re a Christian, you know you were never meant to.

Can we all agree that a dog killing a human is the single most important factor in determining if a dog breed is dangerous or not? The CDC publshed a report in 2000 detailing dog attacks that resulted in death between 1979 and 1998. Pit bulls (shocker) were #1 on the list. There were 31 breeds that were responsible for deaths and only 9 were in the double digits. The top 4 were in the in the 20's and above. They were..
Pit bull 76 Rottweiler 44 German Shepard 27 Husky 21
I am sure the pit lovers will discredit the report but I believe this is hard data. Pit bills killed more people in this time frame than any other breed. There is no chance I would have a pit bill as a pet or allow one around my children. When there are so many other breeds why even take the risk?

I don't think pits are any "meaner" than a lot of other breeds out there... However I do believe they are very unpredictable and they are the most dangerous breed if they do attack.

Goodman, if a dog attacked and killed your loved one. Would you not find out what kind of dog it is? More than likely the dog would have been shot and killed and identified. Even if you add a margin of error in the identification of the dogs doing the killing, pit bulls and pitbull mixes account for most of the deaths...OVER 20 YEARS!!! I am not going to try and convince you because obviously you are a pitbull lover. More power to you. Like I said before I will never have a pitbull around my children.
