I know that some of the guys around here are pretty good with this stuff. What pre-emergent would you guys recommend for a bermuda yard? I would like to try and cut down on the weeds I have to kill this year.

I would suggest prodiamine put out in two applications at a split rate. Trade names are barricade/stonewall/evade. You can get it from several distributers across the state in a 50lb bag a put it out like fertilizer. A 50lb bag should do around 10,000 sf. 20-25$ 0-0-7 analysis.

No problem, any kind is better than none but if u have a choice id go prodiamine or if u want to spend some $ get dimension. Both come in a granular form

Is prodiamine safe for St. Augustine? Yes. Read the label and put it out at the rate they say to

I use the generic form of Prowl H20 (Pendant) on mine and it takes care of 95% of the crabgrass. I use the rate of 2 quarts per acre.

Last time I checked, Prowl was a crop herbicide, not turf. I like prodiamine. It always worked the best in our research trials. Specticle is one that came along after my turf days but I have used it in industrial uses and it is by far the best PRE out there. It also lasts the longest. I had some roadside work I did and I applied it early March. Not only did it control the summer grasses that year but also the cool season grasses the next winter. It is expensive though and the prodiamine is more affordable.
If you do the things you need to do when you need to do them then someday you can do the things you want to do when you want to do them.

Wow. So much $$$ for what can be accomplished for so much less Nah, its head and shoulder better than what ive used in the past , i got enough for 200 acres and save my one man show time and $ on post em. It can be done cheaper but ill pay all day for no call backs or weeds in any yard when im stretched thin in the spring.

I finally got tired of fighting my yard and pay someone else to fight it. $250 a year for 6 treatments and if I have a issue I call and make them deal with it. Well worth the money and it's one less thing for me to worry about.
The secret to a long marriage is to keep on dating, just as you did before marriage. We have "date night" once a week. Hers is Saturday, mine is Thursday.
The only time a married woman gives those is if your not married to them!

Well worth the money and it's one less thing for me to worry about. Yelp, same here. I don't touch it AND save money. Plus, my yard stays very green
