Wanted to share my testimony:

As a child, I walked the aisle in a small Baptist Church in Picayune, Ms. Later was baptized at that church and called myself a Christian from that point. I can't recall my age, time of year, or much of anything except that it was a Sunday service.

Fast forward through the years and I am now 34 years old, married, and have 2 little girls. As I was having a conversation with some coworkers in the kitchen, I realized that these two Christian Gentlemen did not see me as a Christian. I've worked with these guys for 6 years and considered myself a Christian that whole time. It was at this moment I started to examine my heart.

A couple of days went by and I reflected on my past 25+ years as a Christian and began to realize that I had been living with a hard heart, pride, idols, and an attitude that did not reflect a person who had Christ in their heart.

Church and prayer over this time period for me was more of a convenient philosophy and ritual. I brought my family to Church because it was what I considered to be the right thing to do. As I examined myself I realized the truth was that I never was transformed into a Christian.

On my way to work Thursday morning, I pulled over at 4:30 am and prayed that the Lord come into my heart and take the burden of sin I had been carrying all these years. I had bent before, but was never to a broken point until Thursday morning.

As I reflect on the events that led me to this place, I realize that God opens and closes doors for us as we travel down the path he has laid for us to travel. Every decision and event in your life happens for a reason.

This morning I went to the Pastor at the church I have been attending in Spanish Fort, Al and told him my story. We talked, prayed, and when invitation came my wife and I joined the Church.

I just thought I would share.

That's awesome, man! There are a great number of people that call themselves Christians that are in the same boat you were in. I was in that boat for a lot of years myself. The burden that is lifted when true conversion takes place is unmistakable and the proof is lived out through perseverance.

I've had a lot of moments over the last few years where I have to stop and figure out where I am spiritually. I've had several of those "pull over to the side of the road" mornings/evenings. I'm still not the Christian that I want to be/need to be but I try every day to be a better Christian than the day before.

Thank you for sharing. I think we all go through periods like that at sometime or another. It's so encouraging to know though that no matter how far you go, it isn't so far that The Lord won't take you back.

What a great testimony! I, too, had one much the same. Took me many years that to call myself a Christian, and to live as one, were two TOTALLY different agendas. Praise to the God of mercy and grace for your conversion!

Praise the Lord. Glad you shared. Many seem to be in the same boat. Maybe your testimony will encourage others to examine their lives. Examination is something we Christians should do often.

Amen. I have a similar testimony. Thank God we realized this before it was to late. I professed Christianity and if I had died, I feel that I would have heard "Depart from me I never knew you." Praise God brother

I pray your relationship with Jesus will continue to grow.Did your pastor mention following up with believers baptism?
