That's great to hear. I'll be down this weekend, I'm fired up.

We've started seeing some chasing. Not any big boys yet but lots of younger bucks. We are over towards Tallassee.

We're seeing chasing just not seeing many deer lately.

So weird.

We are in Suttle which is just north of Dallas county and we are not seeing any sign of rut. Scrapes and rubs, but zero big bucks during hunting hours. Even the young bucks aren't paying any attention to the does. With a week left its not looking good for us.

It's not behind anymore.

It's on where we are. Saw 4 different racked bucks all chasing yesterday morning.

The chase is over in the 3 areas of Dallas county I hunt. They always chase the same time every year. In Marion Junction, its around the 10th. Just west of Selma, the peak is usually the 3rd week of January. The 19th seems to always have been that magical day for us. Usually on that day we will have some bone on the ground or come back bitching because we screwed up.

It's been a strange rut so far. I don't know if its over has just begun. Very late this year for some reason.
