Interesting topic. My wife is just starting to hunt and she was dogging the buckmaster scope on her dad's old rifle. She loves my redfield binos that are not very expensive but good for the money.

She claims she could only see a blob at 5:20. I remember using that scope and seeing deer easily up to 5:30. I think every set of eyes reacts differently to optics.

I just got an older Vari-x III in a 50m that appears outstanding to my eyes.
