Had four does and three bucks in my backyard this morning. Watched the bucks chase the does around until it got light enough to be able to tell which buck(s) was legal. Shot a six or eight point. Got good blood but I had to run to school to get a sub to cover for me. Gonna go get the deer as soon as my sub arrives. Heck yeah! Post up some pictures when you find it!

I walked out to head to work a bit ago and boy I wish I was in a stand! Beautiful day to be in the woods!

It's amazing how quite these deer are, I can't even hear them. Thankful to be able to be in the woods this morning! This past Sunday morning I hunted and had a problem with "quiet deer". About 8:30 the frost melted and the wind picked up. I had 6 does, a big 8pt, and a decent 5pt come in from behind me. I never heard em. They had literally walked 100 yards through open woods behind me, crossed a roadbed maybe 75yds to my left, and walked 50 yards up into the cutover before I caught the movement. I had to take a terrible shot at that 8pt (and I reckon I missed or wounded him), when I would've had a gimme open shot if I could've heard/seen them earlier (and probably killed him in that roadbed they had just crossed).

I'm about as far as you can go at lowndes wma. Talltines hinted in here last weekend and said it looked good. I'm set up on the food plot hoping something comes out for a bite to eat. On second thought why did I listen to that crazy sob? I ain't crazy. By the way I licked every tree in there.

Dang it why is it so tough to post a pic on this forum? Or I may be an idiot, lol. I'm going with the latter.

You find blood or anything? I sure didn't. That cut is so tall that I knew I was shooting through some crap, so it's possible that it got deflected (but it was a shotgun slug). When I got in there I wasn't even totally sure where he was standing. I spent 45 mins combing a place as big as a football field, not a drop. Never jumped a deer, nothing. In my mind I was thinkinig how I never saw him leave the cutover, but come to think of it, I never saw those 6 does and that 5pt leave either. So I guess they managed to get out of Dodge without me realizing it. I did misjudge the distance too...I thought he was about 75 yards, but when I got out there I ranged my tree and it read 130. Fooled me bad.
