Cuba = was a small pawn in the USSR's machine (just like Ukraine) yet we've shunned them due to their proximity to our border. Perhaps having a real working relationship with the people of Cuba will win them over to becoming allies instead of enemies.
Do you actually think the "people" of Cuba have any choice in our relations with them? Cuba is run by the Communist government not by the people! I am sure the people of Cuba would love to become a democracy ASAP but it ain't happening. Yup! Cuba is also known as the land of classic cars, but that was not because they like '57 Chevy's its because that was the last time they had a free society and they cobble those things together with scrap today.
