One was 260 and the other one was about 220 or 240 pounds. It's been years ago. They were bedded together in a sage field. He shot one and the other one jumped up and he thought it was the same deer and killed it too. . .

Most of our mature bucks are taken during the rut, so they may have lost some weight. It takes a mature buck, usually 5 y/o to get that big, unless there's a lot of high quality ag around.

Length adds a lot of weight on these big bodied deer. I got lucky. I could drive truck right to him. If I hadn't been lifting weights I never would have got him loaded by myself. “Killing tomorrow’s trophies today.” On the distance I like to walk to my stands: “The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”
