Deer piss on themselves all year. Has nothing to do with rut. Black hocks can occur any time. Deer with dark hocks just do it more often. And this particular deer is an all out beast, and he's fat in every picture I have of him. I've got pics of him in rut from last January, and if you think his neck is big now it ain't.
